About Real or AI?

Real or AI? is a free daily game. Every morning at 7am UK time there are five new pictures or clips. You decide whether each one is real or made by AI, and then we show you the answer, the signs to look for and the proof.

Why we made it

AI pictures are now good enough to fool most people some of the time, and that cuts both ways: fakes get believed, and real photographs get dismissed as fake. Reading about it does not help much. Practising does. A few minutes a day of guessing, being wrong and seeing why is the quickest way we know to get better at it.

What makes it different

• Every answer is proven. We only use a picture when we can show where it came from. We never guess, and we do not rely on AI detector tools.
• Every picture is credited. Each one has its own page with the source, the credit and the licence.
• It is free and needs no account. Your score and streak are kept in your own browser.
